Definition


Information design is prepared so that users can interact and discover it with effectiveness as it is made clear to them through, illustrations, words and data. Instructional design is creating an efficient, affective and appealing instructional and learning experience by utilizing a process that consists of the beginning needs and knowledge of the user and through creating transitional assistance eventually leading the learner or user to the end goal.


Examples



Taste gives the user the step by step instructions on cooking recipes.




How stuff works has the aim of giving the user a look into the way many things work.
The web site utilizes illustrations and media as its tools to explain concepts.



learn4you is a site designed for the user to interact with the use of flash and pictures to engage with the user
and to help them remember with pictures and diagrams.

Interactive Design

Definition

Interaction design defines the behavior of a system in response to its user.
To design for user interaction is to model and design around the need for the user to interact and modify a system, product or service.
Many examples of interactive design are web or electronic systems and are based around or the same as those of web 2.0, such as Facebook, Myspace, You tube, Twitter & Wikipedia. However here are a couple more visual examples...

eBay a website people and businesses buy and sell goods.
The user has the power to display their goods in their own way and to create their own advertisement.




Blogger allows the user to interact with the websites templates and tools to create their own blog.

Web 2.0

Definition

Web 2.0 is associated with web applications that facilitate interactive information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design and collaboration on the world wide web.


Examples

A website utilizing Web 2.0 will enable the user to interact with other users via the website or to change the website content at their own will. Some of the most notable of these websites are;




Facebook is a social networking site Users can add friends and send them messages,
and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves.





Myspace was overtaken internationally by its main competitor, Facebook.
It is also a social networking site very similar to Facebook.

Youtube is a website where users can upload and share videos.




Twitter is a social networking and blogger website, users can send and read messages or "Tweets".




Wikipedia is a free web-based multi collaborative encyclopedia.

How To Make Toast. (Flowcharts & Step Guides)


1. Plug toaster into power point.
2. Turn on power point.
3. Take bread out of the fridge.
4. Open bread and check for mold.
5. Place bread in toaster.
6. Set toaster to desired burn level.
7. Push down button to toast bread.
8. Check if toast is burnt enough.
9. Go to cupboard and take out condiments.
10. Open condiment jar.
11. Open cutlery drawer and take out butter knife.
12. Spread condiment over bread and repeat on the next slice.
13. Place knife in the dishwasher or sink.
14. Close lid on the condiments jar.
15. Place condiments jar back in cupboard.
16. Pick up and eat toast.
